During breast cancer awareness month, it only makes sense to talk about what we put on our bodies, including natural deodorant and other skin care. Removing estrogen mimicking toxins found in skin care and finding natural alternatives can greatly improve one’s health.
Skin Care and Regulation
Skin care is not highly regulated. Perhaps the FDA doesn’t feel topical products are as much of a concern. It is important then to take matters into your own hands and treat your body with as much care as you would with food. In fact, I only use food-grade ingredients on my skin and in our Simple Nature Skin Care line.
Easy, Natural Skin Care Solutions
A skin care regimen does not have to be complicated. Find ideas in your own kitchen. A simple oil for your body keeps skin nourished and soft (think olive, almond, or jojoba oils). A facial mask of pure raw honey is extremely hydrating and is even a great wound healer (perfect for chapped lips). I keep a jar of honey on my bathtub. And yogurt makes for a great exfoliate (leave on for 5-10 min and rinse). This winter make your own body scrub using equal amounts of fine sugar (I like brown sugar) and a nourishing oil. Add a few drops of your favorite essential oil for added fragrance. Works great in the shower just before completing. Apply then rinse and the oil will stay on your skin locking in moisture. And finally, one of my favorites, Shea butter to sooth those overly chapped areas (lips, elbows, heals). It also adds a bit of natural sun protection and great for diminishing scars.
Deodorant Supporting a Healthy Lymph System
And finally, it’s important to address deodorant as we honor breast cancer awareness this month. First and foremost, antiperspirants block your pores keeping toxins in your system longer. Please avoid these at all costs. Those and other store-bought deodorant can also allow chemicals to seep into your pores adding more load to your lymph system. This month, to support breast cancer awareness, Simple Nature is reducing its price of our natural, powder deodorant for anyone ready to try a natural approach. With five essential oils to naturally kill bacteria and odor, you will smell amazing and keep your lymph system healthy and happy.
